The Road to hana

Prepare to wake up extremely early and make the trek through the Road to Hana. We started our trip around 6AM from Lahaina. I highly recommend downloading the Road to Hana Maui GyPSy Guide App on your phone. The app provides a self-guided tour with recommended stops at each point, local history and stories, tips and driving directions so you don’t miss a thing. You won’t have much service throughout the drive, but the App uses GPS, and will keep you on track of where you are and which are the best stops as well as the history of Maui. You will experience many climate changes in Road to Hana, bring a rain jacket, swimsuit, warm clothes, and hiking shoes.

  • Kapalua Trails - hike the Kapalua trails from mountain ridges to the coastline

  • Honolua Black Rock - great snorkeling spot

  • Kapalua Cliff House - great for cliff jumping and snorkeling here

Things to do Kihei:

  • Big Beach - one of the longest beaches in Maui

  • Ulua Beach

  • Keawekapu

  • Have happy hour at Sensei

  • Fred’s for Mexican Maui Brew

Things to do in Kahului/Wailuku:

  • Hike Waihee Ridge Trail

  • Hike Olivine Pools
